Snoopy is an owner give-up that was
originally bought at a reptile swap. He's a beautiful white color,
which is unusual for opossums. Once he's picked up, he loves to
cuddle. People are amazed how soft and clean Snoopy is. See an
opossum on my shoulder instead of on the side of the road! It's true
that opossums can play dead, but it's more like fainting. They even
bloat and give off a stink that resembles rotting meat so that they
don't get eaten. Think about that the next time you see a "dead"
opossum. Mythbuster: Adults cannot hang from their tails, and
youngsters can only hang momentarily if they have to. Fact: Opossums
have more teeth than any other North American land mammal!! 50 to be
exact.
